Yannis Gourzis (born 1953) is a well-known Greek printmaker and painter. He was born in Athens, Greece, and studied drawing under K. Eliades 1968-72 and V. Vlachopoulos 1973-74, graphic arts from 1973-75 on a scholarship and engraving at the Athens School of Fine Arts (ASFA) 1974-79. He was engraver at the Greek National Mint 1984-92 and from 1992 until 2020 he taught printmaking at the ASFA. He produced woodcuts, lithographs and engraving over a long period which were illustrated in books and exhibited as artworks in various shows, mainly in Greece. A retrospective show of his work was held in 2017 at the Museum in Rhodes. His work is held in a number of public collections.
