Margaret Geddes (1914-1998) was a well-known painter of landscapes, portraits, figure subjects and more latterly of abstracts from the 1960s.  She was born at Cheam in Surrey and studied at Westminster School of Art 1932-37. Geddes exhibited at the Royal Academy (1940 & 1945), with the New English Art Club (1937-1946), the London Group, and The Redfern Gallery.  Her first solo show was at the Artists’ International Association in 1950 and later shows were held at the Drian Gallery in London.  She was a member of the National Society of Painters, Sculptors and Gravers (NS) and the Women’s International Art Club (WIAC).
