Wolff Buchholz (1935-2010) was a well-known German printmaker, photographer and painter in oil, tempera and watercolour. He was born in Hamburg, where he studied at the University of Fine Arts, and also in Berlin and Munich. His work was exhibited chiefly in Germany, Slovenia and in the United States. His photographs of New York City from 1990 are of particular note. His prints are usually in etching with aquatint, mezzotint, lithography, silkscreen and woodcut and were normally printed by him in his own graphic workshop. His work is represented in the National Gallery of Art in Washington D.C.
