Scottish painter and printmaker Horne Shepherd (1909-1993) was born in Dundee and he studied at Dundee School of Art and then at the Glasgow School of Art in the late 1920s.  He came to London in the mid 1930s, and later exhibited at the Royal Society of British Artists, New English Art Club, London Group, Leicester Galleries, Redfern Gallery, Royal Scottish Academy and Society of Scottish Artists, etc.  He moved to West Sussex later in life. In 2009 an exhibition to mark the centenary of his birth was held at the Queens Gallery in Dundee. Examples of his work are held in public collections in that city.
