Tessa Newcomb (born 1955, Suffolk) is a well-known painter mainly in oil of Suffolk coastal subjects, still life, the Suffolk countryside and figure subjects. She is the daughter of the artist Mary Newcomb (1922-2008). Tessa Newcomb studied at Norwich School of Art 1972-73, gained an honours degree at the Bath Academy 1976, and undertook an advanced printmaking course in 1977 at Wimbledon School of Art. She has shown her work at mixed exhibitions including Crane Arts and the Mercury Gallery and has had solo shows at the Annexe Gallery, Wimbledon 1979 & 1980, and at the Christopher Hull Gallery from 1987 on and later with Chappel Galleries in Essex, Crane Kalman and Ainscough Contemporary Art. Tessa Newcomb’s work is held in the University Campus collection in Suffolk, and also by examples in Bradford Museums & Galleries and the Whitworth Art Gallery. The artist lives and works in Suffolk.
