Morris Kestelman, RA, LG (1905-1998) was a well known painter of figurative subjects, and later of abstracts, as well as being a fine muralist, book illustrator and stage designer. He was born in London and studied at the Central School of Art 1922-25 and then at the Royal College of Art 1926-29. He exhibited with the New English Art Club from 1928, also with The London Group being elected a member in 1951, and with the Royal Academy from 1945 being elected Senior RA 1996. His work is held in several public collections, including the Imperial War Museum and the Arts Council Collection. In more recent times his work was shown by The Boundary Gallery in North London.
