Jennifer Joan Dickson, RA, RE is known internationally as a printmaker, photographer, painter and teacher. She was born in South Africa, and studied art at Goldsmiths School of Art in London 1954-59, then at S W Hayter's Atelier 17 in Paris. During the 1960s she had a print studio in Steyning, West Sussex. Jennifer Dickson exhibited at the Royal Academy from 1959, being elected a full member in 1976, and is also a member of the Royal Society of Painter Printmakers. She emigrated to Canada in 1969 and she became a Canadian citizen, receiving the Order of Canada 1995. Her work is held in many public collections, including the British Museum; the Victoria & Albert Museum; the Metropolitan Museum, New York; the National Gallery of Canada; the Hermitage, St Petersburg, Russia; and the National Gallery, Cape Town, South Africa. She lives and works in Ottawa.
