Description: The present work came from the collection of the artist's family a good many years ago. It is signed lower right simply 'Noel' and dated 1947. It appears never to have been framed and as a consequence the colours are strong and fresh. There are losses to the paper at the corners, and in the lower margin, but outside the painted image save for one tear to the lower margin which encroaches on the image by about half an inch (it has a repair). There are some spots of foxing visible from the reverse which don't detract from the painted image...
