Leonard Sulla Manasseh, RA, PRWA (1916-2017) was a well-known architect and artist. He was born in Singapore and was educated in England and later became a student at the Architectural Association School of Architecture in Bedford Square, London 1935-41. After war service he built up his architectural practice and by the late 1950s his firm had become one of the leading British architects. In 1964 he and his business partner Ian Baker designed the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu. He exhibited his work at the Royal Academy from 1958 and was elected ARA in 1976,  RA in 1979 and Senior Royal Academician in 1991. He was also a member of the Royal West of England Academy and served as President 1989-1994. He was appointed OBE in 1982 and lived in London for many years.
