Title: 'Hugh Town, St Mary's' The Scilly Isles

Description: An original watercolour titled 'Hugh Town, St Mary's' painted in the Scilly Isles which are about forty miles south-west of Land's End, Cornwall. The work isn't signed but it is inscribed by the artist lower right 'Hugh Town, St Mary's'. Abbott & Holder note on their label verso that the work is 'inscribed below the mount' and that the date of the watercolour is circa 1948. We imagine that the label was prepared before the work was framed as the inscription is visible. The work is glazed and it has a wash lined mount of excellent quality. The frame itself is in generally good order for its age as is the watercolour.
