Title: 'Galena' - an original pencil signed etching with aquatint; framed
Description: A framed original etching with aquatint, pencil signed by the artist lower right, titled 'Galena' lower left and numbered 2 from a small edition of 20 prints only. Although not dated, we think it likely that this work is from the mid 1960s as, in our opinion, it shows the influence of Hayter and Atelier 17 where the artist had studied in 1961-62. 'Galena' may be derived from the Ancient Greek, the minor goddess Galene, who personified calm seas. Although not examined out of the frame, the etching appears to be in very good condition. The wooden frame is in reasonable order for its age, with some wear and tear.
