Title: ‘Emie in the Mirror'

Description: An original etching of a woman (Emie) in a mirror, which although undated is from the 1960s. The etching is based on drawings and paintings by the artist from the early 1940s (source - with acknowledgement to the artist's son Geraint Hall). Emie appeared in other works too by the artist. It is pencil signed by the artist at lower right and numbered 3 of an edition of 20 lower left. The etched image is in very good condition. There is some light toning to the paper in the margins. The wooden frame may well date to the 1960s. It has some wear and tear but is in reasonable order for its age. It appears that the mount was replaced more recently. An example of this work was sold at Bonhams in London in 1997 with the generic title 'Portrait of a Girl with Her Arms Folded'.
